No pedalboard yet.
My first pedalboard that I set up around 2014. Before that I just had the Warwick tuner on the floor by itself. I bought a Pedaltrain Junior and because the tuner looked so lonely on there, I decided to get a bunch of pedals at once. You can clearly see my priorities: A cheap tuner, a cheap PSU (which is actually quite decent), a *very* cheap Sansamp clone and a Darkglass pedal. Take a guess which of those I kept the longest. I had no idea how to use the Boss limiter, and it probably just made my sound worse because of that. If I remember correctly, the B3K was a later addition.
Around 2015 I decided that it's time to get a real Sansamp. I found a used programmable one but never really used more than one setting.
In 2016 I decided to get the Darkglass B7K as a preamp which will stay a main part of my sound for years. Since I had left my metalcore band for a less heavy rock band with just one guitar, I decided that it would also be a good time to get more effects.
The other additions were the Boss flanger because I liked Tool, the Boss OC-3 which I used to try to get OC-2 sounds, and the Ibanez delay which I saw on Patrick Hunter's YouTube channel. The delay never got used in any song. At least I decided to get rid of the limiter. With the B7K I also decided to never use my amp for tone shaping again. One of the best additions was the small box for picks.
Later that year, I added a looper which I wanted to use to practice at home but never actually did. At some point, I put it in the front to set up my sounds which turned out to be quite useful.
The Pedaltrain turned out to be quite tedious to carry since I didn't have a car. Also, I wanted an actual case because I didn't trust our guitarist to pack it properly in his car. I found a cheap pedal case by Stagg which had Velcro inside which sounded like a smart idea.
One problem with the case was that the rim was too high to attach cables to the pedals there, so in 2017 I build crappy raisers for the tuner (input) and the preamp (output).
I also got rid of all the pedals I didn't really use anyway and got a Darkglass Duality Fuzz which is an underrated pedal in my opinion.
The same year I decided to give compressors another try. I went with the Spectra Comp but was still too lazy to actually read about compressors so it was pretty useless.
At some point Thomas built a custom board for me that would fit the case so I could get rid of my crappy raisers. Since I was always using some kind of distortion (even for my clean tone) I got the OmniCabSim for a better DI sound. I also replaced my trusty B3K and B7K with the B7KU which saved some space and looks cooler. For some reason, I remember the sound being better with the separate pedals though. I also tried the ODB-3 at a friend's rehearsal space and liked it a lot. Everyone needs distortion, overdrive, and a fuzz. I remember using that board for a pop band.
In 2021 I decided that the smaller case is still to annoying to carry and downsized even further. This time to a Pedaltrain Nano. That one went through a few iterations.
I briefly added the ODB-3 back.
In 2019 I actually replaced the B7K(U) for a brief period. At this point I was occasionally playing outdoor gigs where it was almost impossible to see the LED of Boss pedals which is why it had to go. Also the Alpha Omicron was the new hype which meant I obviously had to get one.
In the end, I liked the B7KU more though.
2021 I had a real job and therefore a bigger budget. I bought a Line 6 Helix, so I would have something for guitar and bass (I got rid of my guitar amp a while ago). Of course, the Helix was way too big to bring to the rehearsal space (I would often walk there which would be around 45 minutes). Luckily, I didn't need that many sounds anyway so the HX Stomp was more than enough, especially with the extra footswitches and a dedicated tuner (which saved another footswitch).
Later, I replaced the extra footswitches with an expression pedal which I used as a volume pedal so that the tuner could be always on. In 2022, I replaced the Polytune with a StroboStomp.
